Summer vacation is about to run square into the start of school. Owen is home. The house is in chaos as all its members try to make room for the changes. I find myself lamenting the silence and clinging to each passing day with unseemly vigor. It is easy to breathe in and rest back when the waters are smooth. It is another practice all together to continue relaxing when the waters of life become turbulent and rapid. The mind seeks to brace and evade, to control and anticipate. The body reacts with tension, prepared for what...the next rock, rapid, waterfall? Relinquishing its best defense...buoyancy.
Breathe in, breathe out, little droplet.
